IMS Does Big at Furniture Open House

Filed under: IMS Broker Successes — Tags: — kristav @ 3:43 pm

Niles, IL – Michelle Nugent – IMS Barter Broker

I am really happy to say that the furniture open house yesterday was a success. It turned out to be a busy day and a late night, I was there until about 8pm. For the most part everyone who came were very thankful and pleased with this offering. Several clients bought some really great items.

So the big question, how much did we do in sales……keep in mind we have about 5 clients who might call back this weekend to add on items pending the measurements once they got home…….but as of this morning we did $48,589!!

The sales will be entered today as I was too busy yesterday to get them entered at the store.  Thanks for helping to promote this open house!

New York, New York – Adam Lodynsky – IMS Barter Broker

An IMS member, who owned a very large day camp in New York City, was able to purchase 30 tickets to a hot Broadway show. The event was held to celebrate his 3-year-old’s birthday. Using trade, the member was able to accommodate 30 children, and was absolutely thrilled.

Check the Marketplace Before You Say No

San Diego, California- Eddy Michaelly-Sales

Recently, an IMS member sent me an email requesting a computer, monitor, and wireless headset for his office phone. Before getting back to him, I checked the Marketplace and saw the exact listings for the items he wanted. With that information in hand, I simply let my client know that he should look on the Marketplace. Needless to say, he was surprised and very pleased.

New Contractor’s Quality Work Leads to More IMS Trade

Filed under: IMS Broker Successes — Tags: — kristav @ 4:14 pm

Niles, Illinois – Karen Zaur – IMS Barter Broker

In November of 2009, I was given a new account whose owner was a one-person contractor. I wanted to get him business as soon as possible, and since another member of mine was looking for someone who could do construction work at his office, I put the two together. The results were great! Not only did my contractor do the original job, but because of the excellent quality of work, he was contracted for additional remodeling at the same office and at the owners home. Now my contractor has made $6,700 in sales to date, and spent $2,019, with plans to spend even more. He’s on a roll and loves IMS!

Who Needs a Retail Location To Move Inventory?

Filed under: IMS Broker Successes — Tags: — kristav @ 10:08 am

New Berlin, Wisconsin – Steve Lamp – IMS Regional Manager

An IMS member who had a sports-wear clothing store changed his format and no longer has an actual retail location. The client had asked If IMS would display some items in our office on consignment during the holiday season. We explained that we needed to get his products out in front of a much larger audience and the venue for that is the IMS online Marketplace. The Marketplace sells thousands of dollars worth of items each and every day. He agreed, and once his pro sports team jackets were posted on the Marketplace, the website sales started coming in. This client was able to move more than $4,000 in products in just two weeks. Then he refreshed his ad on 4 specific jackets that were available, and within 24 hours they were sold.

Satisfied New Member Receives Cash Referrals

Filed under: IMS Broker Successes — Tags: — kristav @ 8:14 am

Madison, Wisconsin – Gina Price – IMS Barter Broker

A new client of mine has been providing other IMS members with athletic shoes since he joined the network in December of 2009. Sales have come from just about every state participating in the IMS system. My client is impressed with the business IMS has been able to provide him on trade and the cash-referral business it has brought as well. He has been able to positively reinvest his trade on vehicle lettering, accommodations, advertising, and a new drawer for his cash register. He is anxiously awaiting the 2010 Barter Expo and is excited about the opportunity he’ll have to meet other members of IMS.

IMS Currency Saves Home Sale

Filed under: IMS Broker Successes — Tags: — kristav @ 11:25 am

Lewis Center, Ohio – Laurie Bjorkgren – IMS Barter Broker

Recently, an IMS member who had his home listed for sale but wasn’t receiving any fair offers, decided to throw some trade into the mix. Here’s how it went: After receiving a cash offer, and then going back and forth with offers and counter-offers, our selling member told the buyer that he would not go any lower on the price of his home. But he then explained that what he could do is give the buyer $2,000 IMS trade dollars. That triggered the buyer’s interest. So after our client explained the value of the IMS’ currency, they signed the contract for the purchase of the home.

The seller’s broker sent a barter gift card to the new homebuyers along with an information pack of local restaurants, pizza places, dry cleaners and car washes, etc. She also included her IMS business card in the package. The recipients now love the idea of trade and said they will spread the IMS message wherever possible.

Great Results on the Online Marketplace

Filed under: IMS Broker Successes — Tags: — kristav @ 9:44 am

Niles, Illinois – Karen Zaur – IMS Barter Broker

A company that has been a member of IMS since February of 2003 has had astounding success in posting its products on the Marketplace. The firm sells all types of new game tables and chairs, jukeboxes, electronic dartboards, billiard tables and more. After making sales of $84,886 in 2008, and with the prospective influx of new Marketplace sales in 2009, my client decided to set a goal for that year of $200K plus. Remarkably, it was achieved, as the company had sales of $200,963. Now his goal for 2010 is a minimum of $250K, and All IMS Brokers and their clients can be part of the $250K plus of buying.

Barter Gives New Member an Instant Lift!

Filed under: IMS Broker Successes — Tags: — kristav @ 12:01 pm

New Berlin, WI - Steve Lamp - IMS Regional Manager

We have a newly joined member that was looking to move some specific golf carts that he had in his inventory. A promo was run to advertise these carts to our other members, and within his first 30 days of membership, the client had sold over $35,000 worth of golf carts! This trade credit helped both his bottom line and cash flow, and enabled him to purchase a forklift that was needed in his warehouse.

The client also mentioned that he will be moving offices soon and is looking forward to IMS assisting him in getting several items that will be needed in the new office.

To Bonus Employees or Not?

Filed under: IMS Broker Successes — Tags: — kristav @ 9:06 am

Wichita, Kansas - Nikki Inlow - IMS Barter Broker

2009 posed many questions and concerns for business owners but being able to compensate employees shouldn’t have to be one of them!  They say good help is hard to find so keep the good ones!  Gift Cards are a great incentive not only during the holidays but any time throughout the year!

Over the holiday season, we really encouraged the purchase of Gift Cards.  For some it was a means to an agonizing situation…being able to bonus or not?  With a little insight to how they work - the gift card purchases were a success.  Our office set up over $10,000 in Gift Cards just in December.  It’s a new concept for most members but proved to be a benefit for all.
