Transaction Adds 1,000 Customers to Barter Firm's Base

New Berlin, Wis., April 06, 2004 -- International Monetary Systems, Ltd. (OTC BB: INLM) today announced completion of its previously announced acquisition of California Barter Exchange of Modesto, California.

Don Mardak, president and chief executive officer of International Monetary Systems, said the cash and stock acquisition adds 1,000 barter customers who are located in Modesto, Stockton and Fresno, California. "This increases our barter client roster to nearly 7,000 members, with approximately 3,000 of those in a 100-mile radius of the San Francisco Bay area," added Mardak. "Our California operation by itself would now be one of the largest independent trade exchanges in North America."

International Monetary Systems, Ltd. recently filed its Form 10-KSB annual report, which showed increased profitability in its barter division.
