International Monetary Systems Launches National Series of Barter Expos
Events expected to give substantial boost to Q4 revenue
New Berlin, Wis., October 31, 2005 -- International Monetary Systems, Ltd. (OTC BB: INLM), a worldwide leader in business-to-business barter services, today announced plans for its 15th annual Wisconsin/Illinois Barter Expo & Holiday Gift Show Saturday, Nov. 5. The Wisconsin Expo kicks off a national series of eight barter expos in November and December, which will be held in Ohio, Connecticut, Tennessee, Nevada and California. Last year, these events gave a substantial boost to the trade exchange's fourth-quarter revenue.
The Wisconsin Expo will be held at the Milwaukee County Sports Complex in Franklin, Wis. More than 100 exhibitors will be offering their goods and services on a barter basis to hundreds of other trade exchange members. A special feature of the Expo will be the silent barter auction, in which more than 125 hard-to-get products, travel packages, and special-event tickets will be auctioned off to attendees.
Currently, INLM has 9,500 clients in 32 markets across the United States. The company generates its income in three different ways: First, each client is asked to pay an initiation fee of $595 to join the network. Second, clients pay a monthly maintenance fee of $12 per month cash and $12 per month in trade dollars. This generates nearly $100,000 each month in both cash and trade fees. Third, INLM's largest revenue driver is a 12% cash commission on every trade processed. In September, INLM's barter network generated $4.7 million in transactions, and the company expects to process nearly $50 million in trade transactions in 2005.
