International Monetary Systems to Change the Name of Its Operating Subsidiary
New Berlin, Wis., June 15, 2006 -- International Monetary Systems, Ltd. (OTC BB:INLM.OB), a worldwide leader in business-to-business barter services, announced today it is changing the name of its Continental Trade Exchange subsidiary to International Monetary Systems.
IMS' CEO, Don Mardak, commented: "Nearly twenty-one years ago, Continental Trade Exchange began doing business. Four years later, we incorporated International Monetary Systems, Ltd. as a holding company that owns and operates the CTE Barter network. Since that time, IMS has gone public and, consequently, receives a good deal of publicity. Very little of that 'good press' benefits the Continental Trade Exchange operation. So to help us avoid further confusion, and for the sake of uniformity and branding, our board of directors recently made the decision to eliminate the CTE name. We believe that International Monetary Systems better reflects our business model as an alternative payment system and complementary currency. Therefore, beginning in July our clients will refer to us as International Monetary Systems, or IMS Barter."
