Sunce Winery is nestled in Sonoma County's famed Russian River Valley. This case of 12 bottles includes 2 of each of the following:
2023 Sangiovese, Santo Giordano Vyd. RSV - Gold Medal Sonoma County Harvest Fair. This Brunello-style wine boasts grape-harvest aromas, perhaps multiple vitis vinifera fermenting at the same time—intense aromatics of red fruit and cedar wood that go on and on. Very well made, pristine, chiseled and sharp—but bold and generous at the same time. There’s a touch of bitter almond and alfalfa, followed by softer tones of pureed berry and an exotic masculine spice with a hint of leather chaps. Decidedly foreign with interspersions of an unnamed black fruit, as well as rum cake, dry fudge, prune, black pepper, pipe tobacco, and cured meat. A beautiful ensemble with deep, deep layers of beauty. A great, opulent pleasure bomb with lavish layers, loaded thickly on top of one another.
2023 Montepulciano, Elso’s Vineyard RRV - Gold Medal OC Wine Competition with 91 points 2025. Gold Medal Sonoma County Harvest Fair 2024. On the palate there are hints of Mayan chocolate, currants, and pepper with loads of dark fruit and minerality on the finish. A rustic wine exhibiting aromas and flavors of oregano, pepper, smoky tobacco and black figs.
2024 Nebbiolo, Reserve Heringer, Clarksburg - Gold Medal with 90 points at OCWS 2026. Gold Medal San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition 2026. The Lampia clone reigns supreme in this quintessentially Barolo-style wine. Statistically speaking, this wine can have the perfect balance of tannin, acid, and fruit. It is said that this beauty can touch places on the palate that haven’t been touched, spreading farther across the tongue and roof of one’s mouth.
2024 Sagrantino, Spencer Lane Vyd., Knights Valley - Gold Medal Sonoma County Harvest Fair 2026, Gold Medal with 90 points at OCWS 2026. Notes of dark berries, black plum, jammy fruits, and subtle spice from barrel aging.
2023 Nero d’Avola, Saureel Vyd., El Dorado County - Gold Medal with 91 points at OCWS 2026. Nero d’Avola is the Italian answer to lovers of the full-bodied wines of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Upon pouring, a jammy nose bursts forth, followed by hints of cedar and leather. As the wine caresses the palate, dark berry notes mingle with a pleasant acidity. It finishes dry with a perceptible black cherry tartness.
2021 Trincadeira, St. Jorge Vyd., Lodi - Double Gold Medal San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. Aromatics of Italian herbs steeped in black tea tease the senses and beg for extended sniffing before sipping. On the palate it is juicy and lively with mixed jellybean mingling with cotton candy meeting a fleshy cocoa character tinged in balsamic. The finish is the best part, it’s like a good first impression, it keeps you reminiscing about it.
