Gold Medal OC Wine Competition with 91 points 2025. Gold Medal Sonoma County Harvest Fair 2024. The Montepulciano varietal is indigenous of central Italy and is not to be confused with wines from the region or town with the same name. The bouquet is rich in horse barn, saddle-hanging aromas. On the palate there are hints of Mayan chocolate, currants, and pepper with loads of dark fruit and minerality on the finish. Montepulciano is a rustic wine that exhibits strong aromas and flavors of oregano, pepper, smoky tobacco and black fruits like plums, boysenberries, and dark figs. This hearty sipper will cut through fatty meats (like beef brisket) and pair nicely alongside rich, roasted winter vegetables. Try it also with Filipino Beef Adobo, braised goat, Shepard’s pie, meatloaf, and Meat Lover’s Pizza. On the vegetarian side, try it with: baked macaroni and cheese, stuffed baked potato, Southern-style collard greens, winter beets, and black bean burgers. In fromage: aged cheddar, parmesan, asiago, or pepper jack. 12 bottles. Please note the no ship states include: AL, AK, DE, KY, MA, MS, MT, NH, UT.
