A Romantic Getaway in the Catskills Mountain

Imagine taking a Sunday drive only to get lost in the wilderness of Sullivan County’s Catskills Mountains. But then you find a secluded road and decide to turn down it, hoping for someplace you can get directions. You drive up the secluded road and come across a once beautiful manor.

This is how the innkeepers of the Inn at Lake Joseph first discovered the Talmage House in the 1980s.

Instead of finding directions, they found a purpose not only for the inn but themselves. Upon seeing the inn, even in its rundown state, they envisioned everything that it could be and invested in it immediately. They restored the Talmage House to its former glory from the latter part of the 19th century, transforming it into the romantic country inn it now is.

The Inn at Lake Joseph is a premier escape two hours from New York City, adjacent to the Poconos. Their secluded location offers exceptional amenities, 17 rooms and suites featuring whirlpool tubs, fireplaces, king or queen size beds and private sundecks. Each morning you can enjoy a hearty country breakfast before the day’s adventures. If adventuring isn’t your style you can relax in the library or billiard room, by the seasonal heated pool, or in the privacy of your room with a couple’s massage.

If you enjoy nature, this is the perfect vacation location for you! Surrounded by lush wilderness and unblemished nature, their property is your mountain playground as you explore the miles of wooded trails by foot or on complimentary bikes. You can enjoy swimming, fishing, boating, and more with the use of complimentary kayaks or rowboats on the lake. During the winter they have on-site sledding, snowshoeing, or cross-country skiing with their equipment available for guest use. As the sun sets each day, gather around the outdoor fire pit to cozy up and enjoy roasted marshmallows.

It comes to no surprise with this amazing Bed and Breakfast has been recognized by numerous awards. These include:

  • Should You Be Thinking About Retirement Right Now?
The answer is yes! The year 2020 has shaken many and brought their focus back to basic needs. But one that may be overlooked right now is the subject of retirement. Even though it might not seem important, it may be more important than ever, especially since the studies have shown that the number one financial worry of working people is that they don’t have enough saved to retire.
